Communications and Marketing Officer

Trilateral Research is a UK and IE company, created in October 2004. Our team collaborates across social sciences and technology development to bring insights from each into supporting data-driven innovation. We provide research, advisory and technology development services to private and public sector organisations. With a growing list of clients (e.g., the European Commission, UNHCR, the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)), we are looking to recruit an experienced Communications and Marketing Officer to join the team.

The successful candidate will be work on two distinct areas:

1) corporate communications to enhance Trilateral’s reputation

2) project-specific communication and dissemination activities. You will have responsibility for delivering communications and marketing activity for the company and supporting our researchers to promote their work to maximise the impact of their research.

The candidate should have an understanding of contemporary communication and marketing channels for research and industry purposes. The candidate should have broad experience in developing communication and marketing materials (e.g., websites, social media, blogs, newsletters, etc.) and campaigns. Experience of working on European research communication and dissemination activities would be preferred.

The post-holder will be expected to liaise with staff members and external organisations (project partners and clients across the EU and internationally) to deliver excellent leadership in communication and dissemination activities, often with short and demanding deadlines.

 

Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Development of communication and dissemination strategies and plans, and corresponding monitoring and management of associated activities.
  • Generating content for communication and marketing materials (e.g., posters, brochures, press releases, newsletters).
  • Sourcing ideas, commissioning, writing and editing blogs to raise awareness of the expertise and research developed at Trilateral Research.
  • Management and content development for social media channels.
  • Management and content development for websites (using standard content editors such as WordPress).
  • Attending and/or presenting at project meetings, conferences and workshops, involving occasional travel in the EU.

 

Qualifications:

  • Candidates will have a qualification in a relevant field (e.g., an MSc in a marketing and communications related field or a Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification).
  • Candidates should have strong, demonstrable writing skills and preferably will have already published news items, magazine articles and other popular press materials.
  • Proven experience in website content management and development.
  • Proven experience in social media management and analytics.
